St. Maelrubha's Scottish Episcopal Church, Poolewe
The extension and refurbishment of the hall was completed in November 2009 under the title 'Here to Help' by accessing grants from the Scottish Episcopal Church and Awards For All Lottery Funding, together with gifts from other generous benefactors.
This project of St. Maelrubha's Church is intended to serve the local community through the hiring out of the hall at the very reasonable charge of £5 an hour.
Some examples of its present use include meetings by Social Services to benefit those who are isolated in their homes and meet together fortnightly for a meal and chat.
Weight Watchers also use the hall every week on Tuesdays and The 1st Wester Ross Air Scouts and Explorers use the hall for occasional meetings and also hold fund raising events for themselves and the Church.
In addition, for small funerals we offer the hall for refreshments afterwards.
Hall bookings are done through Rev. Heather Widdows, telephone 01445 712176.
